Unable to come to terms with his homosexuality, Nathan Gniewek, a Catholic, turns to conversion therapy - a practice denounced by noted US health organizations. In the quest to become the ideal man as prescribed by his religion, he goes through traumatic conversion therapy sessions and distances himself from his friends. After two years of therapy, he finds himself lonely and miserable and begins to question the method. Will he accept himself the way he is or continue to chase the image of the perfect man?
